24-year-old Homegrown defender Nathan Harriel has earned a senior team call-up for the United States, U.S. Soccer announced Sunday morning.
He joined Head Coach Mauricio Pochettinoās for training camp in Chicago ahead of matches against Turkey on June 7th and Switzerland on June 10th.
This camp will be the team's final tune-up before USMNT's 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup campaign beginning on June 15th against Trinidad and Tobago.
Per U.S. Soccer, Harriel has been part of every U.S. Youth National Team from the U-18s through the U-23s. Last summer, he represented the stars and stripes in the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping his team reach the quarterfinals alongside fellow Union Homegrowns Jack McGlynn and Paxten Aaronson.
Harriel's recent call-up is well-deserved one as he has emerged as versatile talent for the Philadelphia Union in MLS play so far in 2025, playing outside back, centerback, and even in the midfield when called on. In 14 games played, Harriel has contributed on both ends of the field, scoring twice in 1121 minutes on the pitch. His most recent goal came in the team's 2-1 come from behind win against Toronto FC on Wednesday, May 28th in Canada.
